Good at google. Which should be easy for everyone to learn, but a lot of people don’t.

That’s so cynical that I would almost kinda respect it if I didn’t hate marketing on principle.
Most people are probably pretty passive, so yeah, I think there’s a subset of posters who are highly visible. But even over at Hacker News, where there’s a much larger audience commenting, I recognize specific names because something they said in the past got my attention and I start piecing together their personality a bit at a time.
I had a habit of letting the spellchecker alert me to misspellings but didn’t allow it to correct them. This was to teach me to figure out the correct spelling of difficult words. But now that so much typing is with thumbs on glass, I let it fix things for me (as well as incorrectly modify the word I intended) all the time. Still doing it the old way on a physical kbd, though.
The only 24h shop near me was a gas station. That never resumed post-pan. I’m guessing this is the same with Wally World.
I see bumperstickers that say (paraphrasing), “I bought it before I knew Elon was an idiot.” Well, I’ve seen two: one online, one in real life. But my partner has also seen at least one in real life. So either the same car twice or two different cars.
404media is one of the best independent journalistic sites available. They started one year ago, so they aren’t especially well know, but they are a four person org that came from places like Vice.com and wanted to get out of the corporate bullshit. You should check out their non-paywalled articles.
$100 is asking for syphilis. Go to the high-end escorts. You can even find review sites where clients discuss the cleanliness of the environment, etc. The pros are open with their doctors about their profession and take the necessary precautions and advice to be safe. I’d say USA $500 per hour and above should net you someone who’s both safe and an expert at making you comfortable rather than nervous.
Source: have briefly dated two different people in the profession.
“Matt’s war against WP Engine has been polarizing and upsetting for everyone in WordPress, but most of the WP community has been relatively insulated from any real effects. Putting a loyalty test in the form of a checkmark on the WordPress.org login page has brought the conflict directly to every community member and contributor. Matt is not just forcing everyone to take sides, he is actively telling people to consult attorneys to determine whether or not they should check the box,” the anonymous contributor I spoke to told me. “It is also more than just whether or not you agree to a legally dubious statement to log in. A growing number of active, dedicated community members, many who have no connection with WP Engine, have had their WordPress.org accounts completely disabled with no notice or explanation as to why. No one knows who will be banned next or for what… Whatever Matt’s end goal is, his ‘tactics,’ especially this legally and ethically ambiguous checkbox, are causing a lot of confusion and mental anguish to people around the world.”
This is the sort of behavior that causes irreparable damage to a brand. Psycho.
You get a car, and you get a car, and you get a car.
Outstanding journalism from four independently-minded journalists doing their own thing.
Break into a stadium to see Metallica live for free.
Jump the fence at an amphitheater when the headline band took the stage. Security handled me pretty roughly. I was to be ejected, but he didn’t tell the lady at the office where I filed a written complaint for his physical abuse. She let me back into the show and I stayed far away from where he was posted and watched the rest of the show.
I now realize that banishing garlic from my home is an important public service for the needy.
Schneier is one of the two security experts I have in my RSS feeds, the other being Brian Krebs. Bruce Schneier is a smart guy.
I love his podcast.
Nothing. There would be no replacement and the pledge would fade from memory.
