Well, could be. Although I wasn’t really all that happy in my 20s, Glad that part of life is over with. Some things get easier though with age - I’m a lot less fearful, and I don’t fear death at all anymore. I’ve stopped stressing over a lot of stuff. But after 50, things in your body stop working as they used to which is kinda not much fun.

I can imagine. People say their 70s and later become quite nice. Maybe its the fact that stuff not functioning becomes something they can handle.

I think it’s sort of like, you ease into a nice warm comfortableness with life after 50. At least I did. I stopped giving a f#ck about other people’s opinions and really started to enjoy just being myself. I’m in my early 60s, I’m lucky to still look young but my body doesn’t work the way it used to. One day its shoulder pain, the next my hand is sore for some reason. But, my attitude about is also a lot less panicky and worried…so, that’s good I guess?

Aging isn’t for sissies. And yet, here I am. (!). So, getting older, things don’t necessarily get better in every area, but yeah, in terms of overall mood and general happiness, things have gotten really much better.

I appreciate you sharing this with us. It’s a welcome sprinkle of positivity in what feels like a harsh dystopian novel rn.

I’m glad to do it, and I agree, you never hear about the positive sides of aging. And there’s a lot that’s scary about it, but it comes with a whole host of good emotions too. And I think I’m much happier now than I ever was in my too-frantic and too-uptight youth.
