I think I remember this being posted 14 years ago. There were other photos of the kid with the cosplayers, I think the dad took them so the kid definitely wasn’t lost, just loved the flash

I remember reading something many years ago about a way for parents and their children to be reunited when separated in a crowd.

When the kid asks for help the adult would hoist the kid on their shoulders and start singing a song or something to that effect. Other adults would join in to help in the singing which would help put a spotlight on what’s going on and would continue this till the kid and parent would be reunited.

If I remember correctly it was somewhere in the Islamic world that this was practiced. I remember thinking that this was a great way to get family’s back together.

It’s a classical predatory move that kids need to be aware of. The representation of authority.

Like, obviously I’m glad this worked out, but anyone could have been dressed as an action hero, and led the kid away

Thank you for lumping together and condemning an entire professional group. Very helpful.

That group of professionals have a vertical structure that has numerous high officials that hardly address the problem that created this stereotype. Why the same doesn’t stick to school teacher and problems in schools are seen as a big deal?

They’re at a convention dressed in costume. They’re safe. It’s not like he approached a priest or a cop.
