Oh man and we wonder why the liberal arguments aren’t winning over struggling low class Americans in suburban towns.

Yeah, I understand you don’t give a shit, that’s my point.
You don’t even care to deal with the actual story and meat of an issue before hand waving it away and blaming racism that makes you feel superior while having done nothing not even think about the actual people involved.

It makes you useless as even an empathetic ear which is bare minimum people usually want.

You aren’t superior for this stance.

I am seeing it. I’m just not ignoring that there is in fact an interesting base for all this in order to focus on the part the racists without policy are using to push their agenda and that the liberals are ignoring cause it’s complicated and easier to focus on the racists attempt to use to belittle them without doing anything.

No it started with a hodunk town being stressed by its changing landscape that is putting stress on its local residents and the Haitians that are moving there creating a powder keg of stressed resources like housing, traffic and jobs, being used as a political tool.

I understand that people are using this to use to point at generalized black people and racism (just look at you) but there is a legitimate story and starting seed for this that starts before the pandering that is happening now.

Problems can exist before you see the smoke and the problem is not the smoke but the potential fire that somehow does seem to be ignored by everyone who’d rather talk around it.

    Uhh no.

I mean it is literally about Haitians though, as the city of Springfield Ohio already had been incentivizing cheap import labor to take over for the American labor that had left and wouldn’t work for low wages.

Literally, a guaranteed work status and easy entry because of destabilizing forces in Haiti has meant a huge influx to the point that now more than 1 in 4 residents in Springfield are in fact Haitian.

It doesn’t mean that outlandish stories to create fear and tension are a good idea but just casually changing the details to say it’s about black people is you also trying to push a narrative on a struggling city with many real issues that are its own.

  • Its so fricking hard to find the trustworthy brands.

I’m honestly just so willing to not have any brand loyalty and to suffer with making a bad pick that I have to return or fix myself, I constantly having to re-find what is considered actually good quality.

The answer is a lot of name brand in the higher price range but not so high that it’s just for padding a contractor’s quote and percent take home is still good quality. And you can never go for the same model twice if the company is doing constant refreshes cause those are with cheaper components every time. (Allowance for first refresh fixing a flaw)

  • Yeah but name brands mean you buy it once and it doesn’t fail as often, is the argument for that I get from those of that generation.

And I mean I get it. Buy a cheap pair of shoes or a good pair and you will realize you will go through 3 of the cheap pairs at half price compared to buying 1 good pair.

Though less so with each passing year since name brands are designed to fail now too.

OK but I think it actually might be interesting to see the difference.

That top tier model got you:

    • WiFi
    • a hard drive 3x bigger than the standard
    • every type of card reader
    • full backwards compatibility with previous console games
    • bluray and CD player for home entertainment console use

Now granted that last part is true for the cheaper model PS3 too.

For the PS5 pro upgrade you get

    • the same amount of RAM
    • slightly better performing GPU under theoretical max use cases using updated hardware but not new
    • a removed disk drive for less functionality
    • 2x times hard drive space when storage costs are at a historical low.

The extra money used to get you more functionality. This refresh seems like more for number fetishists to scrape more dopamine from the bottom of the barrel and get ripped off apple style to dish out more for basic features.

Yes they have charged a lot but this is not exactly a great sign of “see how they have always done this?”

Edit: also wages haven’t dramatically shifted since the PS3 launch so while inflation has ruined purchasing power to make it cost equivalent of $950, work hours needed to work to afford $600 is still the same thus making this new console still quite more costly. Its just you could buy more with same hours of work in the past.

  • Yes they have a culture of thinking pale is better but actually so did most of the world for a while. It meant you didn’t work outside.

But that’s more about using lightening and skin “brightening” products cause getting a tan is completely fine in the summer.

The umbrella is just cause try existing in that kind of heat and humidity and you will realize adding portable shade that also keeps heat directly off your head like a hat is a godsend and can keep sun stroke from happening.

  • To bad for you, it’s all just grammatical nonsense!

This exceeding trifling witling, considering ranting criticizing concerning adopting fitting wording being exhibiting transcending learning, was displaying, notwithstanding ridiculing, surpassing boasting swelling reasoning, respecting correcting erring writing, and touching detecting deceiving arguing during debating.

Yeah I guess? Is that your only skillset though cause I do tech work, but I also do a lot cheap large batch cooking, grow my own produce and can provide immediate first aid and medical care, all of which, I think, makes me pretty useful.

Plus a minor hobby in botany specifically poisonous plants makes me somewhat useful for what not to eat.

You are more than just your work.

  • That’s really not on point about if you have an issue just breaking off and making anothered fractured community.

How many times do you do that before it’s just 1 person. Exactly as humans and the internet intended when it joined people together over distances not needed to be traveled?

Everyone gets what they want as long as it’s being alone so you can never wrong?

No I don’t love it here but I compromise because that’s the point. This is where people are.
But sure you got me. I live in a society so how could I be such a hypocrite.
