I agree with my Tex Mex bazooka friend and now I want something in a flour tortilla with slightly too much cheese.

I removed Gemini and installed assistant. That made it searchable in my app list. Then I just plopped the button on my home screen. When I short press the button it pops up something that asks me to try Gemini, but I just say whatever it is I want and it does it just like it used to in the search bar.
The old assistant wasn’t bad, especially before they put lens in the search widget instead of being off in its own place where it belongs so that I can uninstall it.
I thought Gemini needed 6 more months of development to be ready for prime time. Apparently I wildly underestimated it. Simple tasks barely work and it offloads anything useful to the old assistant anyway.
I set up a separate assistant button because the assistant on the search bar, even without Gemini, only searches now. I use Firefox so I don’t need it for search. I use it to add things to my to do list and to set timers, the only two things voice assistants are good for in my life.
I don’t understand why they won’t just let me use technology the way I want to use it rather than trying to force me to use it their way. Well, I refuse to understand even though I kind of get it (if I used shit the way I wanted they’d never have the opportunity to show me an advertisement).
Edit: clarity
Same here, and for approximately the same reason (I left her because of the broken trust, she tried to get me back with a plan to fuck with me but I was already too fucked up over it).
It wasn’t my final relationship, but I’ll die alone and pretty happy. I have a couple of people that I actually trust and, same as you, a butt load of acquaintances that I enjoy being around. I generally use “friend” as shorthand for those people, but they’ll never really know me.
I’m very up front about relationships having a shelf life.
Step one for gun control should be a fully functioning mental healthcare system. That’s not the final step by any means, but if people are getting the mental help they need there will be fewer shootings.
It’s either that or texasographer
How many cows do they own in East Texas?
Don’t make me feel some kind of way.
Oh, I wasn’t taking it any kind of bad way! I was just adding context that yeah, we’ve got funny user names, but I also genuinely think the fartographer is a pretty cool human in general.
I think the fartographer is a neat person. We’ve discussed Texas stuff and checked on each other during the hurricane. When I get the opportunity it’s always a nice conversation. That’s the closest thing I have to a friend on Lemmy.
So it’s definitely a good day for me.
I had to go look back at who posted this comment (I don’t usually look) and I knew it was going to be you.
I’ve taken my special needs nephews there and it’s amazing. They both loved the Ferris wheel so I had to ride it what felt like a hundred times. Even the regular ticket prices are really good for the quality of the place.
Sadly I did not. I have visited but I was only there a few weeks to have beer and bratwurst.
I’m starting to think that there are a lot of managers who demand the impossible.
Same. Technically I report to someone at the company I contract with but mostly that’s just to let them know when I’ll be in and when I won’t.
Was it me? Because I had that conversation back in '10 or '11. I ended up taking most of it off then took off the rest after the project “off the books” (but with an email paper trail because I’ve been burned before).
You’re absolutely right. Watching porn is not a big deal. I care far more about the hypocrisy of being part of a party who wants to ban porn while going every damn day to semen covered booths with glory holes than I do about the actual porn or anything he was doing in those booths. These are the people enacting porn bans on “moral grounds”.
Of course I care more about the Holocaust than the hypocrisy, but I can think he’s a shit stain for two reasons.
If the code is there it can be exploited, and that’s a big ol’ honking attack vector.
Thirded. And even when I got control, I had a better time in my late 30s than I did at any time prior to that. I had a lot of absolutely great misadventures in my 20s and I’ll be forever grateful. But in my late 30s I had the wisdom to know what bullshit I could get into and out of, enough money to do it, a body that wasn’t beat to hell just yet, and very few shits to give.
Things started to even out at 40 and have been pretty steady the last couple of years. It’s amazing in a different way.
I can’t speak for anyone else, but if I were giving advice to 15 year old me I would definitely say that the best is yet to come. Just gotta keep your eyes peeled for the opportunity.
I’ve got everything from an American G&L to a shitty $80 acoustic bass off Amazon. My favorite that I purchased instead of built is currently a mid level Alvarez, followed very closely by a butterscotch Squier 51 that I’ve had since they first came out (for under $100).
The biggest problem with low end guitars and bass guitars these days is mostly QC. Sharp frets, super high action, and bad tuners are fixable as long as your neck isn’t complete garbage. The problem comes in when new folks really have no idea what it should feel like and they don’t want to take it down and pay half the cost of the instrument to have a good setup done. So they suffer and quit when they could have spent $45 and turned a garbage $80 no name special into a reasonable beginner instrument.
To be fair, QC has also become a problem with much more expensive guitars as well in some cases (looking at you, Gibson).
Yee haw, fuck the law.
