Of course they’re learning. Learning how to bullshit and gaslight normal people into accepting their dystopian and draconian ambitions.

Have you noticed how the modern AI models absolutely tow the line of its creators? Just like this example, there’s another one where an image generator refuses to generate the image of Mickey Mouse from Steamboat Willie, even though its copyright expired recently. The same model has no problem violating the copyrights of independent artists.
And while these models can strictly refuse to avoid what its creators don’t want it to do, they fail at basic prompts like ‘show a black doctor’. These models are pathologically rife with biases from its creators.
Why would any other company complain?
Forget making it open source. There’s no other app or platform with so many dark patterns. Their web app is utter crap on mobile in an attempt to push users to the mobile app. The last thing we need is another social media company twisting the hands of its users. People should simply abandon that crapware.
He might be the very reason that phrase was invented, considering how many innocent young lives he took.
I think Henry Kissinger is one of those unifying things. It’s amazing, black or white, communist or capitalist, east or west…
Oh! Is that why they gave him the Nobel piss prize?
Freeze peach absolutist, ya all!
Why exactly do normal people with small defaults have ‘collection agents’ sent after them, while billion dollar defaults are written off? Isn’t that supposed to be the other way around?
The same question applies to cars, refrigerators, AC, thermostats, TV (aside from multimedia streams), washing machines, sex toys, regular toys, house locks, fan controllers, tooth brushes, toasters, microwaves, water heaters, stoves, ovens, trimmers, shavers, watches, …
Privacy is a natural consequence of freedom that FSF is talking about. Their stance is that any computing device under your ownership should do everything you want it to, and only what you want it to.
No arguments here. Even gmail and YouTube are vessels of abuse.
When faced with a severe backlash, Google’s response is always “We heard you. We’ve killed it. Here’s an alternative” - and then proceeds to offer the same wine with minor changes in a new bottle.
This is what happened when FLoC was replaced with Topics. This is what’s happening with WEI. They say that they will limit it to webview and embedded media! They talk as if they are doing us a favor! As if their stupid play protect and app geo-locking isn’t causing widespread misery already!
Google - we weren’t asking for a replacement. It wasn’t a necessary functionality that was implemented badly. It was an evil functionality that shouldn’t have been proposed in the first place! Of course you won’t listen to us! You only took a small tactical step back due to the enormous hit you took to your image. But sure as hell, you consider your profits as more important than all the benefits of the web or the well being of billions of its users. You will get it by hook or crook - ethics and morality be damned!
If there’s anyone who’s still using chrome or one of its derivatives - ask yourself the reason for staying with it. You may have a hundred reasons. But at the end of the day, it will boil down to just two - convenience and laziness. You are not willing to part with even a small feature even after knowing that Chrome’s creators are out to destroy the web for everyone except themselves. You forgot that freedom is not a right - it’s something you have to fight for and earn. And in this battle, you laid down your weapons without a fight and let Google subject you and everyone else to their greed. Chrome’s market share allows them to control the web standards and the web ecosystem. You are complicit in the damage the web is taking - because you chose convenience over principles.
They’re too big to fail. Any amount of fine anyone can slap on them is just peanuts for them. They would rather break the law and use part of the gains to battle it out in court and push their opponents to bankruptcy. They have so much money that they can’t help but spend it on subjugating the rule of law.
They have to be broken up. Broken up into a hundred different companies and spread around the world with restrictions on interacting with each other.
Talking about ingredient X, why was there a huge glass flask full of it right above the tank for the professor to accidentally break it?
It’s likely that GenZ is just fatigued and apathetic to climate change. They might have just resigned to their fate, knowing the world governments and greedy corporate vermin won’t let anything meaningful happen in their lifetime.
Least important it may be. But it is the most significant. This scheme follows the conventional scheme we follow while writing numbers - the most significant digit to the left and significance reducing as we move right.
The advantage of YYYY-MM-DD becomes when you add time to it in ISO-8601 or RFC 3339 format: YYYY-MM-DDThh:mm:ss. All the digits are uniformly decreasing in significance from left to right.
This becomes even more apparent if you are trying to sort by time - say, a stack of files, or datetime in a computer. Try doing this with any other scheme.
He should keep it and rename himself. It suits him more.
China is the main driver of growth in RISC-V currently. But we need to see how the trade wars will affect that. There was a recent news about RISC-V specifically in this regard.
We might also see more activity from Intel, Qualcomm and Nvidia.
RISC-V instruction set (ISA) is open source. But the actual implementation (microarchitecture) has no such obligations. And among the implementations that can run Linux, none (that I know) are open source designs.
With regards to hardware backdoors - no, closed source RISC-V implementations are not easier than x86 or ARM to audit for security.
They diverted the funding for AI? AI is already a way for rich crooks to steal and make money off public information, if not an outright hype that grifters employ to attract funding for their devious pursuits. None of this is AI’s fault. But politicians should understand the type of people they are funding, instead of ignorantly falling for buzzwords.
