sounds like to much work. I just use the privacy-oriented photo backup solution ente. (And, because I’m an android user – plus having multiple backups – I also use Google Photos)

the one thing you do not do with this shit is use AI (too much risk of false positives. I mean, I remember Facebook’s AI thought that an onion was nudity (probably thought it was a boob).
But tools do exist. PhotoDNA by Microsoft. Although much more user-friendly implementation if you use Cloudflare, related links:
considering Elon is killing twitter, I don’t think that’s a viable option. Every assemble…to Mastodon and our savior of decentralized social media!
Examine TikTok’s U.S. facilities, records, equipment and servers with minimal or no notice,
not related. But this kind of reminds me of https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/18/2257 specifically:
© Any person to whom subsection (a) applies shall maintain the records required by this section at his business premises, or at such other place as the Attorney General may by regulation prescribe and shall make such records available to the Attorney General for inspection at all reasonable times.
So, at least it’s nothing new. there’s precedence for it in existing law.
sadly no
there are no concerns about potentially being sued. Section 230 literally exists. Section 230 says that lemmy.world is not liable for what users post. It is the users themselves that are liable. As it should be. If Section 230 didn’t exist, nobody would be able to post anyone because the hosts would be too scared about getting sued. (ironic)
Except they don’t have to deal with “legal shit”. Section 230 literally protects them and makes it so that they are NOT liable for what users post (it’s the users that post it that are liable – as it should be, tbh)
This is just some bullshit censorship. I would totally run my own personal lemmy instance, but I’ve heard that it’s not easy to run in docker. Hopefully over time it’ll improve!
Tweetdeck has been dying a slow death since they killed the Android app back in 2013 (RIP. Still miss you buddy!)
too real
I definitely grabbed the json
My instance is pixelfed.social. no matter what browser i use (librewolf/firefox, brave, edge on desktop. Brave/firefox on Mobile) importing simply doesn’t work. It lets me select the file and nothing further post that point 🤷♀️
Basically. Mastodon is a Twitter alternative. Pixelfed is an instagram alternative.
Now, if only the import from instagram would work🙄
It’ll probably never happen because the unemployment rate for autistic people is 85%. But in an ideal world, I’d love to build my own (if there’s any sugar mommies/daddies out there that feel like spoiling someone 🤔):
Just for funsies I just built it in pcpartpicker https://pcpartpicker.com/user/JoshuaACasey/saved/cqjnpg
edit: motherboard seems out-of-stock, so if this ever becomes a reality, might have to make some adjustments for a different micro itx motherboard (plus compatible cpu of course. no biggie, thanks to the existence of pcpartpicker, compatibility is a breeze!)
That’s a fairly common saying in the bdsm community. Don’t “yuck someone’s yum”
yep. he buys things that other people did and then takes credit for it.
Money ≠ Intelligence. Melonhead is undeniable proof of this.
and there we have. a reddit meme has transcended reddit onto a higher plane of existence.
it’s not a bad idea. it does the following things that I can think of:
just as long as it’s not a shitty scenario such as using discord where the information is 1. not publicly searchable because it’s stuck behind a login page, and 2. even though technically discord has a search function, good luck finding what you’re looking for
to be fair, all cloud services scan. It’s unfortunately necessary to detect CSAM to stop people from spreading it.
