Hmm. Sorry bout that. What were we talking about?
I come from bizarre family, with an upper class father and a mother who grew up in extreme poverty, experienced wealth and now lives in poverty again after divorce.
Although most of my friends are lower middle class, two of my closest friends are homeless asylum seekers and two are doctors, one of which is a neurosurgeon. Some others are unemployed or upper middle class. One of my closest friends is so wealthy I can’t even fathom it.
I don’t have dozens of friends, as my writing could imply. We’re talking 15 persons tops. So there’s indeed a little diversity in there.
And frankly? It’s exhausting and often infuriating. Switching is complicated. But hey, I won’t complain. At least I have close ones. I know some people want for friendship (e.g. my gf).
Regulating capitalism = authoritarianism. What a weird take. Regulating capitalism =/= abolishing capitalism, this I can understand. But your take… wow.
Interesting thanks. Close enough but maybe different cultural overtones. I must admit I didn’t take time to check a more consistent definition as I’m 65% taking a nap.
Indeed, but just to be sure, is the meaning the same? The lower fringe/extremity of the bourgeoisie, often with more cultural capital than economical (teachers, non-pauperized nurses, young journalists, PhD in social sciences, etc.), joyfully rebellious but also with high levels of strict adherence to the established order, main agents of the gentrification of formerly popular urban neighborhood but whose younger generations can sometimes adhere to revolutionary perspectives, strongly despised by orthodox marxists while being the primary audience of such movements/orgs?
I truly had no idea the English name was similar to the French one. TIL something.
Ah yes, I often shit while I shit.
I’m 40 and I think with the strongest faith people who say this kind of things are an absolute toxin.
As a guy whose name is, in his native language, literally something like “Ghristmas”, I thank you in the name of all December 24th until the end of times.
Last two times I’ve bought a keyboard, I struggled to find one without LCD. Like really. So idk if that’s on the demand or the offer.
You could have stopped at (universal) servitude. But yeah, they say it all becomes clear p.72!
By pushing the idea that the humain brain is capable of “free” decision making to adapt to its environment without being forced by external factors it seemed to me that it implied an exception, or, otherwise, you’d be forced to extend that hypothesis to all living beings, and causality would surely take offense ?
I’m answering, but I see what you mean, and I generally agree with it. I just tend to think the idea of free orientation/action is both dangerous and the reason of a lot of human suffering. I’m also a compatabilist, but I another way I suppose.

One cauld rightfully argue “determination” and “predetermination” are wildly different concepts. The comic is wrong on this. But let’s go page 72 anyway
You seem to be pretty up voted on a regular basis except a few comments. In my humble opinion, most of them would not be explained by a specific reddit hive mind but rather classic moral panics. I mean, I’ve been campaigning my whole life for prison reform/abolition and that’s the typical kind of reactions I’ve got… irl. I suppose that’s just what you usually get when saying something which deviates from a specific state of public opinion.
Not trying to play ackshually, but there doesn’t seem to be anything wrong with your posts/comments, imo.
