SHARP thinkers.
TBH, I don’t think it’s that complex. They’re all obsessed with accumulating wealth and power over others. The main differences are where they are from and how direct they are able to be in their pursuits under the constraints of their societies. Modern Western bourgeoise appear to envy those in Russia who seem to be able to take actions without needing PR. In the West, the working class aren’t accustomed to people “falling” out of windows and, occasionally, the Western bourgeoise sacrifice one of their own to maintain the illusion that laws apply to them (frequently with minimal actual consequences for the sacrificee).
Yeah… It doesn’t happen often and when it does, it’s usually a driver and/or hw issue that is likely to leak memory and/or hold file descriptors but procs in D
(uninterruptible_sleep) state do happen. It’s really obnoxious that murdering them with SIGKILL
does nothing.
Seconded. Commercialism and monetizing everything is what caused the www to rot. We don’t need it here. Neoliberalism has already robbed generations of the right to simply exist or create without a profit motive, among other things, like literacy. Pretty sick of it.
Do you think programming an ESP32 is a good project for learning rust?
I’ve only barely scratched the surface there myself but, I absolutely do think so. For several reasons. First, ESP32 is one of the few series of MCUs that support the Rust stdlib. And learning what that entails for Rust is extremely helpful in conceptualizing build targets. Second, MCUs are a very constrained target for software/firmware. Getting comfortable there will likely improve your code efficiency in other code platforms as you are more likely to think about resource usage earlier. And third, there’s some pretty excellent docs and tutorials.
Any suggested place to start? (Tutorials, YouTube Vida etc)
For tutorials, my recommended starting point is with the official docs/books themselves:
I kinda envy folks who think that they have enough geopolitical importance for the CIA/NSA/ThreeLetterAgencies to be keeping tabs on them. I mean, it generally comes with a lot of baggage and delusions but, constantly that level of self-esteem and assuredness must be nice (not that I’m super low in my adult life).
Now, influence campaigns? That’s a different animal altogether. There’ve been too many on the modern Internet for too long.
That’s fair. To be clear, I meant minimal experience with the Rust programming language. I’ve mainly tinkered with ESP32 types of MCUs in Arduino and CircuitPython when it comes to firmware, but have much more software experience. In some ways, I found the little bit of Rust that I tried easier because of the tooling - defaulting to a CLI tool to flash rather than an IDE is much more comfortable for me.
If the target for the firmware has stdlib already implemented, my experience has been that it is indeed easy with minimal experience in the language.
Porque no los dos? Allowing major corps to put even more downward pressure on workers doesn’t help anyone but the rich. LLMs aren’t going to save the world or become sentient.
What is making my excited is the potential to use this for indoor position tracking for placing persistent virtual displays.
I’m on an extended hiatus from riding motorcycles, after getting sideswiped on the highway by an SUV. My minimal injuries and likely survival, I owe to my gear.
My criteria for selection started with looking at available standards for protective gear. In the case of motorcycle PPE, the EU generally has the best safety requirements, so, I’d generally select gear certified to the highest CE standards. My gear pieces were:
Things that I think would have helped more:
For your case, I would recommend looking into dirt bike or ADV PPE. The sort of protection that you’re looking for should be somewhat similar. An extra bonus is that you can likely wear body armor under your normal horseback gear (might need to size up). The technological advancements for impact armor this century are just amazing.
Thank you!!!
This isn’t technically correct. CRT, LCD, and OLED displays are generally constantly refreshing the image. There are some niche exceptions like memory-in-pixel displays but they are few and far between. eInk displays are very different in this aspect because the display itself acts as a physical memory of the image because its mechanism of creating an image involves physical changes (pigmented particles moving closer or further away from the visible plane).
This also supposes that there are not other essential (to cats) nutrients beyond taurine that would be absent.
Well put. Cats are OBLIGATE carnivores. They do not have anatomy to support extracting necessary nutrition from vegan sources that are available. It IS hypothetically possibly for them to survive and thrive on an engineered food source but, such a thing does not currently exist and the chemical complexity makes it unlikely in the near future.
An unwashed ape. Probably an odor only another unwashed ape would love.
My cats smell just fine. The dog on the other hand…
I suspect that it works better when it is applied after saying “It’s morphin’ time!”.
Well fuck. There goes that one.
