I assumed it was for some sort of medical care, The picture with the fridges has what looks like a monitor on an arm to the right. It reminded me of something you’d see attached to an EKG or heart monitor something. I bet the fridges had medicine in them at one point.
People build out nice medical rooms in their homes if they/their family needs consistent medical care and they have money, that’s probably what happened.

I got maybe 20hrs in around release. It was OK but didn’t really grab me, I didn’t even experience any crazy glitches or anything. Some friends have told me it’s gotten a lot better with updates, been meaning to look at it again just haven’t gotten around to it.

I’ve shucked probably 100s of those WD essentials and they just had a little SATA -> USB adapter on it. It’s been a few years but it doesn’t seem like they’d make a whole new PCB just to include USB.
