It should be able to stand on its own without any dependencies and acess to shit like android system webview and should be on fdroid main repo i just want it to use it as a second browser i use tor as my main browser btw please do suggest?
I like Mull. Don’t think it’s minimalistic, though. It’s a Firefox variant tuned for privacy. 86MB
I used it quite a lot and hated it cant open certain sites and javascript or keep tabs open to save its life but in terms if privacy and security yes its the best
I’ve never encountered these issues with Mull, but you could have a look at Cromite which has a similar development philosophy as Mull in regards to privacy and security but is Chromium-based. Being Chromium-based might help with rendering issues on some mobile sites.
It’s not available on F-Droid however. I’ve swapped to using Obtainium to manage my apps to avoid this type of annoyance.
Privacy Browser then
Wont run without android system webview
soon it’ll use it’s own webview called Privacy Webview, for now if you’re system Webview is up to date, why being so worried ?
Because its not privacy friendly
could you share a source, I don’t know about that…
Thanks.
Privacy browser is fine
Privacy Browser is an ASW wrapper, like Fulguris, FOSS Browser, SmartCookieWeb, and a bunch of others.
I use fennec as a secondary to Firefox
No web browser can be called minimalistic if you want to actually use it everyday.
But if your goal is to avoid WebView usage, Bromite or anything based in Firefox (Fennec, Mull) is a way to go.
Like some said, I don’t think there is really a minimum browser out there but I personally use iceraven (it isn’t on the fdroid repos but you can fetch it (the github link of the project) with obtainium which is on the fdroid repos)
Mull (Firefox) or Cromite (Chromium). Cromite isn’t on F-Droid though
Mullbis in fdroid
