How are you connecting the two drives to the Pi? Do they have external power supplies?

I haven’t used a Mi Band in years. Last one I had was the Band 2, and I found that app much later on its life cycle. Worked a treat for what support it had for the Mi Band though!

This is usually a function that full blown media servers offer.

Jellyfin is the one that jumps to mind with this functionality, however I haven’t really this functionality out as of yet.

Oh got it! That’s there on Samsung as well. From what I’ve seen most apps work in that view on Samsung, but they revert to a landscape orientation. Some apps are simply borked because they don’t support landscape mode.

I think MIUI does have a whitelist for major apps so that they can maintain some consistency in how the feature works. On Samsung, they don’t have that, but the experience ends up being different for every app.

Pretty sure that this is an Android 12 feature and apps need to enable support for this. I think the feature is called chat heads, but I could be wrong.

Yep, for most occasions, I simply carry my phone. On the occasions when I do carry my DSLR, it’s still rare for me to use it, especially if my phone can do the job decently well enough.

That is something nice to look at, but not something I’d even plan on getting TBH. I’d rather just use a proper DSLR instead of getting this if I want to take photos professionally.
